Is WayBeacon free?
Yes. The map, live prices, rest areas, hazards and route planning are free, and you don't need an account to look. Fleet plans add multi-truck management for trucking businesses. See the pricing page.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to see prices and plan routes. Create a free account to save vehicles, log fill-ups and set price alerts.
Which states have live prices?
Live prices cover New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory, refreshed every 15 minutes from each government's own feed. New Zealand has no per-station feed at all, so NZ stations appear without prices and we show the national weekly average instead.
How accurate are the prices?
Prices come directly from official government fuel-price feeds and are usually current within minutes. They can still lag or be wrong, so always confirm the price at the bowser before filling up.
Which fuel types can I see?
Diesel, premium diesel, unleaded (U91), E10, premium 95 and 98, wherever the feed provides them. Use the fuel filter at the top of the map to switch.
What makes it good for truck drivers?
Diesel-first pricing, filters for AdBlue and truck-friendly sites, heavy-vehicle rest areas with facilities, a fatigue break planner based on standard HVNL hours, a fuel logbook, and a fleet view with a fuel-tax-credit estimate.
Can I use it while driving?
No. Never operate the app while driving. Plan your stops before you set off or when safely parked.
