Price colours on the map

Every price pin also carries an arrow — ▼ for cheaper than most nearby, ▲ for dearer — so you can read the map whichever setting you pick, and whether or not colour comes through clearly in bright sun.

Clear (recommended)Green for cheap through to blue for expensive. Chosen because it is the easiest to read for every kind of colour vision, including red-green and blue-yellow colour blindness.

No colourBrightness only — the lightest pin is the cheapest. Nothing at all depends on telling colours apart.

The recommended scheme is not a compromise. We measured all three against simulations of red-green and blue-yellow colour blindness, and it separates cheap from dear more clearly than the traditional red-and-green scheme does even for drivers with no colour vision difference at all — which is why it is the default rather than an option buried in a menu.
